 | | AndysTravel | (12.10.2010) | | | | The Punta Sal National Park can only be reached by boat. So the tour starts early in the morning with about a one hour boat ride. If you're lucky you'll spot dolphins on the way. After the first stop, you'll go for a little hike through the rainforest where you can discover exotic animals, maybe even monkeys. Then they will drive you with the boat to another beautiful spot where you can do some snorkling before you'll go for a typical lunch (fish over fire & rice) made by Garifunas. After lunch you can do some swimming in the clear blue water before heading back to Tela with the boat.
| An amazing experience. Unfortunately we didn't come across any dolphins but in return we espied monkeys in the rainforest. Snorkling in this clear blue water was just amazing - we discovered a wide range of fishes. The lunch was delicious!! The Garifunas were very friendly, joyous and fun.
You can either book the tour at a hotel in Tela or on the website of Garifuna Tours.
